About the Club

Nether Edge Folk Club meets every Wednesday at 8.30pm at the Nether Edge Bowling Club,  Nether Edge Road, Sheffield S7 1RU.

The club enjoys acoustic music in a wide variety of genres including traditional, roots revival, blues, jazz, country and Americana. It’s a friendly community with beginners, experienced players, unaccompanied singers, instrumentalists and singer/players all equally welcome.

Occasionally  we have a guest performer and charge admission. Our policy is to book performers who are both very high quality, and represent the great variety of ‘people’s music’ played around the world.

Only a few singers spots are available on guest (ticket only) nights.

Our normal singers’/players’ nights follow a first come first served floor spot format, so those who come early are more likely to get a second turn. On these nights we make no admission charge but we ask everybody to make a £2 contribution to our guest booking fund – so we can confidently book some really excellent performers.

When you arrive, the evening’s MC or another of our regulars will usually ask if you would like to perform, we encourage everyone. But if that doesn’t happen have a word with the MC for the evening and they’ll be very pleased to fit you in.

Our venue, the Nether Edge Bowling Club, is accessible for people with disabilities including wheelchair access thanks to extensive improvements made with funding from Sport England.
